Hi I’m Rylee and thanks for visiting.
Wondering about the name yankeegumbo.com? While I’m a sixth generation Wisconsinite, I’m convinced someone in my family spent some time in Louisiana. Because I love the food, architecture, history, people, music and art. I’ve visited New Orleans and Louisiana several times and I never get bored. I also love cajun food and starting making my own roux and gumbo a long time ago.
And like gumbo, this little blog of mine is just a big ol’ mix of all things that make my life.
When I’m not blogging, gardening, cooking or playing with my dogs, I work at my company, 5NINES which I started with Todd and Eric about 10 years ago.
I continue to find my way being an empty-nester as my daughters have gone off to college and beyond to seek their own paths.

I was searching some information on German Shepherd on Google and then I found your blog post “Is a German Shepherd right for me?”. Thanks for sharing your personal experience on this. And I think I am changing my mind from a German Shepherd as I know I will not be able to give so much time to my dog.
